I find it amazing that the IRS can inform me that I owe them $18 from 2022, yet the federal and state governments have no idea where those funds go.

I was once billed by the IRS for $1.60 something on my 1040 that year. And, NO the decimal is not misplaced! Talk about ‘Government INEFFICIENCY!’ Considering the man hours it took for some IRS employee to find that ridiculous amount, the preparation for mailing, the cost to mail the DEMAND, no wonder America is BANKRUPT! As is said far too often in America today, “You Just Can’t Make This Schiff Up!”
You should have sent them a check for $1.50 just to mess with them. And then, if they sent you another bill, send them another check for half the amount. And so on…
