Benny these are meteor showers that the National Weather forecasted were to happen at the end of the month. I do not think it is any more than that.

The one I saw on Oct 9, 1992, well known as the Peekskill Meteorite was a damned sight bigger than the official news warranted. It passed over me in Norfolk VA and it looked like a big jet on fire, and since I was only about 2 miles from Norfolk International Airport, that was my immediate thought. However, what I saw was so big, I could actually see layers of glowing green globs “slowly” boil and blow off of it. It was APPARENTLY traveling way too slow to be a normal sized meteorite. What I mean by this, is it was much further out in altitude, so the proximity made it appear to go slow. As I said, it appeared moving about as fast as a jet coming in for a landing. It’s my belief that the meteorite that hit the car in NY was only a very small piece of hot spit off the huge meteor which never hit earth, but just lost some of its surface as it got hot passing by our upper atmosphere…Had it hit, instead of just “flying by too close,” well, I think it would have been disastrous. Hence the media and the “official” report played it very low.
