If this were true, the democrats would be having candlelight vigils everywhere.
It’s an election year. Even though they’re going with radical stupid lunatic candidates, they don’t want to push their luck too far.
Small problem. IRGC has the guns and enough people (25K to perhaps 100K by some reports) to keep in some sort of “control” over the populace. Killed some 40K when the people tried to rise up. Likely sufficient to keep them in line. Little doubt the people wish they were gone. Heck, the IRGC is in factions and no one has enough control or clout to surrender even if he/they want to.
