However , Miss Manners tells us , that ONLY “Doctors of Medicine” should be called “Dr.” outside of their building/practice. Others should be called “Dr.” while with colleagues or at place of employment. Consider a person who obtains a “Doctorate” in Filmography. You meet this “Dr.” at a cocktail party , they are addressed as Dr. by other people and you ask them about what type of medicine they practice. Red faced are we not?
