I have been screaming for not only TERM LIMITS, but AGE LIMITS AND NO PENSIONS. Being a member of Congress was never intended, by our forefathers, to be a lifetime job. They are already wealthy when they enter Congress, and, if not, they certainly are when they leave office. It is time WE, THE PEOPLE, put a stop to this and we also decide if and when they receive a pay raise.
It seems that Politics and Politicians, wherever they may be, disregard all moral compasses when they take up a high responsible position. You would like to think that they went into Politics to try and improve the lives of their fellow human beings! But it becomes more and more clear that this, even if it was their original intent, very swiftly gets lost in the very lucrative financial gains to be had. I am sure there must be some well intentioned Politicians but they are hard to identify. The fees may well seem to be a fair remuneration for the service they provide, but add to that the concessions and additions together with the extra opportunities of earning extra income be that legitimate or otherwise, and we are now talking anything from hundreds of thousands to millions. It would seem that the agreed fees for their political positions are mere ‘chicken feed’ in comparison to the ‘extras’ and ‘Perks’. Figures that would turn anyone’s head. Dig deeper and you then find that immediate and some not so ‘immediate’ members of family are also on the ‘gravy train’.
Not in my lifetime, but I would like to think that at some stage, the public at large wake up and not only realise, but take action and realise the potential of completely rebooting the whole political scam and introduce fair negotiated fees for relevant positions but there are no ‘extras’, none at all. There can be inducements, but they should be paid for out of the agreed fees. Just like the majority of the general public!
On mcconnell’s very best day, he was a democrat disguised as a Republican, marrying a china woman with high position in china with the fbi missing the opportunity to collect the evidence his china wife just took to the ccp, needs to seize his office which probably not have much evidence left. FBI needs to wake up.
I think if a political leader or leaders save the USA citizen tax money they can get a %. That is how they get a raise. No more giving themselves raises!
