Defamation is a civil liability, it is something people can be sued for and not something someone can be arrested for.
The problem is that universities do “police” conservative views. They do this by what they teach, who they prevent from public speaking, and not inviting opposing views. That’s what leads students like him to believe these erroneous ideas. The saddest part is that he thinks he’s being intelligent.
I grew up during a time of challenging political thought, but we did our homework and suffered when our arguments were full of holes. These dummies think something is true just because they say it is.
